We are Churches united in Christ throughout the Northwest USA and Canada, we call ourselves Northwest Family of Churches. These churches are in Seattle WA, Spokane WA, Tacoma WA, Anchorage AK, Sacramento CA, Boise ID, Bozeman MT, Missoula MT, Ashland OR, Portland OR and in CANADA with Calgary, Edmonton and the Vancouver. “Impress them upon your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” —Deuteronomy 6:7 Vision: “We see youth thoroughly impressed by the Word of God.” Mission: We impress the Word on youth through MorningTime, MeetingTime, WalkingTime & RestingTime. The basic idea is that we want to impress the Word of God on our youth 24 / 7 and as a result the youth leaves completely moved and impressed by God. We want youth to be impressed by an overall Bible World View. This happens in a number of ways: through Bible preaching and teaching, Bible study, Bible discussions, prayer, time with strong Christians, Biblical worship, times of confession and encouragement, and being surrounded with a bunch of great examples of how to have fun and be a Christian. Our hope is that God, His Son, His Gospel and His People will truly impress youth at the heart level by the end of the week. Our prayer is that youth would go back to their cities determined to honor God and be in a better position to make solid life-changing decisions not built on hype but on the truth of God's Word. In 2008, we decided in faith that we would have a region-wide camp in which our children would grow up bonding with one another and strong Christians and ministry staff throughout the region. We decided to call it NW Youth Camp. The first year was a huge success; the theme was "facethebook" and featured guest speakers such as Seattle Seahawks, Mack Strong and Holy Hip Hop rap artist "BIG City." Lots of good ol' Bible preaching and discussion groups are a highlight at this camp. There were lots of fun and games, ropes courses and even custume parties. Over the past year some youth have even made the decision to study the Word and become baptized disciples of Jesus Christ. To God be the Glory! In 2009 the theme was iJesus! The Lord tremendously blessed our time at the NW Youth Camp. The ministry staff and parents would be so proud of the youth. Last year total of 167 campers and camp staff, this year God has grown us to 276 in number. Last year we had three ministers stay the entire week, this year we’ve had 15 ministers. Last year we had two church leaders preach, this year God has used 10 Church Leaders to serve at camp, visit the camp and preach God’s word with great authority. The Spirit of God hovered over the camp and moved in a powerful way. The first night, the camp had a worship service with the Spokane Christian Church; there were almost 400 in attendance! Pray for our 2010 NW Youth Camp, the theme is "Hardcore", and the focus will be Heroes of the Faith! |
